Bilasipara is a town, sub-division and a town area committee in Dhubri district in the state of Assam, India. This town is under Bilasipara Town committee (BTC) and is part of two MLA constituency namely 27 Bilasipara East 26 Bilasipara West. This town has a population of around fifty thousand sidents (excluding rest of Bilasipara sub-division). The widely spoken language of the town is 'Ujani' or 'Desi' as what people of this area refer to as. People of many religion, caste and mother-tongues are found here. A large number of people residing near the town in the sub divisional areas are involved in farming and production of food. All the products available in the market are mostly from the nearby villages and areas. On entering the town from any side in the highway diversions, people will get to see an endless area of paddy field which is also used to produce mustard seeds in the respective seasons. These food and paddy products are also exported to other towns, cities and states. A River known as Gaurang entered the town from the east which is a tributary of the Brahmaputra. For the marine resources it is the only source other than small lakes and ponds. This town is also well known for its educational institutes. There is a huge number of English Medium and Assamese Medium schools in the town including Hindi and Bengali medium and colleges Traditionally, Goalparia music is the main form of traditional music here. And a great Number of Musicians and singers are in the town Arts and music and dance : Bilasipara has got a few very talented Artists, musicians and well as dancers. Diksha karmakar, contestent of Dance Bangla Dance is from Bilasipara and renowned writer of Assam Gitali Baruah also belongs to Bilasipara. The town is connected through Bus routes and a railway track is under construction which is expected to be working from the 2018. For the inter-town transport, Vehicles like 3 wheeler and 4 wheeler passenger carriers, rickshaw, tuk-tuk are available.
